Two works by Irish composers selected for ISCM World Music Days 2019

Estonia

The AIC is delighted to announce that works by John Buckley and David Fennessy have been selected for ISCM World Music Days 2019. The Estonian Composers’ Union received over 500 submissions of which 99 were selected for performance at the festival, which will take place between 2-10 May in Tallinn and Tartu, Estonia.

John Buckley's Alla Luna will be performed by Kristi Mühling and Naoko Kikuchi.

David Fennessy's Hirta Rounds will be performed by the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra.

The annual ISCM World Music Days is organised each year by a different host country. The festival presents music from each of their members, showcasing the diversity of musical practice in our time. As the Irish Section of the ISCM, the AIC submits six works for consideration each year to the festival, selected from a call for scores.
